AURSS00064 & AURSS00037 Skills Set
This dual program develops the specialist skills and knowledge required to safely inspect, depower, service, maintain, diagnose and repair battery electric vehicle (BEV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) systems and components.
The training is designed for qualified automotive mechanical and electrical technicians seeking to expand their existing capabilities into electric and hybrid vehicle technology. It covers safe working practices for high-voltage vehicles, vehicle depowering and reinitialisation, inspection and maintenance of electric-drive systems, servicing of hybrid electrical components, diagnosis of rechargeable energy-storage systems, and diagnosis of safety-interlock and instrumentation systems.
The program reflects the requirements of the automotive retail, service and repair industry and supports technicians working with the growing range of electrified passenger, commercial and mobile-plant vehicles. Successful participants will develop practical skills for working safely and effectively on both fully electric and hybrid electric vehicles
Entry requirements
**Pathways information**
The combined skill set may only be undertaken in addition to:
AUR30316 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent
AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
or as part of one of the following:
AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or equivalent
AUR40616 Certificate IV in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent.
Course duration
The course is delivered over 1 week on a full-time basis.
Career outcomes
- After successfully completing the course, you will receive your White Card, allowing you to legally access and work on construction sites across Australia while demonstrating your commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
